Safari Group sells a broad range of structural plywood in various sheet sizes and thicknesses from 6mm up to 27mm thick. Structural Plywood is made to Australian Std AS/NZS2269 and is produced in various stress grades such as F11, F14 & F17.

The most popular structural plywoods are C/D grade face and are used in many construction applications such as flooring, mezzanines, roofing, truck bodies, boat building, hoarding and much more.

Please note! Plywood should not be confused with formply, they are two different products! Plywood has a light coloured timber surface & is not used in concreting, whereas formply has a very smooth black film face surface which means it gives a smooth finish when used as formwork for concrete pours. What are the different Plywood face grades?

  1. A GRADE - Veneer quality "A" has a high quality appearance grade face with no visible defects. Suitable to be used in applications where surface decorative appearance is a key consideration.

  2. B GRADE - Veneer quality "B" has an appearance grade face, however small, sound knots are allowed in a B grade face.

  3. C GRADE - Veneer quality "C" is a non-appearance grade face with knots and defects filled. C grade veneer faces are for applications requiring a solid non decorative surface. A CD plywood sheet has a face veneer quality of C grade & a back veneer quality of D grade.

  4. D GRADE - Veneer quality "D" is a non-appearance grade face where limited knots and defects are permitted. D grade veneer faces are suitable for applications where appearance is not important such as structural purposes.
