Concrete Waterstops
In most concrete structures and elements, a particular type of joint (construction, contraction, control, expansion or isolation) could be designed for a number of varied structural design reasons. Concrete structures are only as watertight as these joints and, due to this, a "waterstop" product will be required if the structure is water retaining or water excluding. Waterstops are a critical element to many and varied projects including water tanks, swimming pools, water treatment plants and chemical facilities.
Safari Building Products is a major stockist of a broad range of waterstops including Hydrotite, Leakmaster, PVC rearguard, Supercast PVC, Superstop 47B, Sikaswell and much more. And yes, we ship Australia wide, delivering direct to construction sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and right across rural Australia! Our range includes:
Hydrotite is a water swellable waterstop strip consisting of a unique combination of expanding hydrophilic materials and non-expanding chloroprene rubber co-extruded together. Hydrotite is a reliable and proven product for sealing concrete joints against water ingress or leakage.
The expanding section of Hydrotite is blue with the non-expanding section being black. The co-extruded design means that the expansion is directed across the joint for maximum sealing performance. This expansion creates an effective compression seal within joints which shuts out the water path.
Safari Group stocks large volumes of Hydrotite in our warehouses across Australia in strip sizes of 20mm wide x 10mm thick, and 25mm wide x 7mm high, both in 10m long rolls. Circular sections are also available.
We ship Hydrotite direct to construction sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, and to mines and water projects all around Australia. Call us to discuss your project requirement!

Sure-Stop® PVC Waterstops lead the way in high technology and design, and comply to international standards. Sure-Stop® PVC Waterstops are extruded from specially compounded PVC in accordance with BS2782. They are designed for use in water retaining and water excluding structures where a positive seal is required for poured in-situ concrete expansion, construction and contraction joints.
The range of profiles for both centre-cast and externally placed applications when embedded into the concrete, form a continuous barrier making Sure-Stop® PVC Waterstops ideal for preventing water penetration. These profiles are available in rolls with separate intersections supplied to simplify and minimise on-site fabrication. Concrete structures are only as watertight as the waterstops that join them.
Sure-Stop® PVC Waterstops are designed to allow for expansion, contraction and other movements that can cause joints to open and close. The efficiency of any waterstop is very dependent on good workmanship and on full compaction of the surrounding concrete. Optimum performance will be achieved if the waterstop is installed by keeping these factors in mind.
Safari stock a huge range of Sure-Stop, Rear-Guard and Centre Cast waterstops with scope for custom profiles. The Rear-Guard are used for external applications where the back of the PVC sits on the formwork. The “Centre-Bulb” waterstops are designed to be completely encased in concrete on both sides of the joint.

LEAKMASTER LV-Z SEALANT
Leakmaster LV-Z is a one-component polyurethane hydrophilic (water-swelling/waterstop) sealant with unique physical properties. It can be applied to joints in concrete, in civil engineering construction and water services for seals where conventional seals are impractical. It is also regularly used as an adhesive for other waterstop items such as Hydrotite and SuperSwell 47B to ensure adherence and sealing to rough concrete.
After curing it has excellent physical properties together with rubber-like elasticity and water sealing properties including the ability to support 20m heads of water. Leakmaster expands approximately two times its original volume when exposed to water and will adhere to plastics, glass, metal, concrete and most other building materials. Safari stock Leakmaster LV-Z in 320mL cartridges which can be used in a standard caulking gun.
