Connolly EXJ is a steel-backed expansion joint system used to form expansion joints in slab-on-ground concrete. It allows joints to be established before a continuous pour and can also be used in conventional end-of-pour applications.

The galvanised steel profile supports compressible expansion foam to form a straight, full-depth joint. Connolly’s peg and wedge fixing system secures the profile and allows accurate height adjustment. Compatible dowels and sleeves provide load transfer where specified.

Nominal slab thickness and steel profile height are different measurements. Refer to the relevant product specifications when matching a joint to your slab design.

Permanent Capping & Removable Rebate Moulds

Permanent Capping

Permanent capping remains in place after the concrete pour. Its flexible top section moves with the joint and helps protect it from debris ingress. Black and grey options are available in 3m lengths.

Removable Rebate Moulds

A rebate mould forms a recess above the expansion joint during pouring. The removable top section is taken out after the pour, leaving a rebate for a suitable flexible joint sealant.
