Heavy-Duty PVC Dowel Sleeves for Concrete Construction Joints

Connolly Plastic Universal Dowel Sleeves (UDS) are heavy-duty PVC sleeves designed for use in slab-on-ground concrete construction joints. They encase one end of a round or square dowel bar, preventing the concrete from bonding to the sleeved section.

This allows the dowel to move horizontally within the sleeve as the concrete slab expands and contracts, while still providing effective load transfer across the concrete joint.

Effective Dowel De-Bonding

The Universal Dowel Sleeve prevents concrete from locking onto one half of the dowel bar. This allows controlled horizontal movement at the construction joint and helps accommodate natural concrete expansion and contraction.

Expansion Cap

The capped end of the sleeve creates an internal void around the end of the dowel, providing space to accommodate concrete joint movement and contraction.

Dowel Support & Alignment

Integrated support legs help keep dowels correctly positioned and level during concrete placement. Snap-off sections allow the sleeve to be adjusted to suit different pavement and slab depths.

Easy Formwork Fixing

Connolly UDS sleeves are designed for secure installation into conventional timber formwork. Depending on the application, the sleeve can be fixed using an integrated nailing plate or twist-lock system, including compatibility with Connolly Key Joint profiles.
