Complete Kit for Testing Fresh Concrete Workability

Safari Group’s Concrete Slump Test Kit provides the essential equipment required to measure the consistency and workability of freshly mixed concrete on site.

Slump testing is commonly used during concrete deliveries, pre-pour inspections and quality-control procedures to check that fresh concrete has the required level of workability before placement.

Supplied as a complete portable kit, it is suitable for use by concreters, civil contractors, concrete suppliers, testing technicians and site quality-control personnel.

Kit Includes

  • Slump cone with foot rests

  • Steel base plate

  • Steel tamping rod

  • Graduated measuring ruler

Slump Cone Dimensions

Concrete Slump Testing

During a slump test, fresh concrete is placed into the cone in layers and compacted using the supplied tamping rod. The cone is then lifted vertically, allowing the concrete to slump under its own weight.

The difference between the original cone height and the height of the slumped concrete is measured to determine the concrete slump.

The result provides a practical indication of the concrete’s consistency, workability and uniformity between batches.

Standards

The kit incorporates a standard 100 mm × 200 mm × 300 mm slump cone configuration commonly used for concrete slump testing in accordance with recognised test methods, including AS 1012.3.1 and ASTM C143.

Testing should be carried out by suitably trained personnel in accordance with the applicable test standard, project specification and site quality requirements.
