Safari’s range of Xylene Thinners is used for the dilution of the Armourseal range of solvent based sealers. Diluting your first coat of solvent based sealer is recommended for all primer coats as this helps the acrylic penetrate (key) into the substrate so that subsequent coats have a well bonded coat to adhere to.

Our Xylene can also be used to ‘re-activate’ solvent-based sealer that may have milkiness or patchiness due to moisture entrapment. Moisture entrapment occurs when solvent-borne sealer is applied when there is moisture still present in the substraight, and the moisture becomes trapped under the sealer film. This moisture then causes the sealer to become ‘cloudy’ or ‘milky’ looking. Call us to speak to one of our product specialists to help resolve this problem.
