AD-TEK PW is a water-based silicate treatment designed to waterproof, strengthen and protect concrete. It penetrates into the concrete and reacts with the materials inside it to form a gel that helps block water and contaminants.

The treatment also helps harden the concrete surface, improve durability and protect steel reinforcement from corrosion. Once applied, AD-TEK PW remains active in the concrete and can help seal future hairline cracks when moisture is present.

Coverage

Typical coverage rates are:

• Cracked areas: Approximately 3.0–3.5 m² per litre

• Normal concrete: Approximately 3.5–4.0 m² per litre

Coverage will vary depending on the condition and porosity of the concrete.

Surface Preparation

The concrete should be clean, dry and porous enough to allow the product to penetrate.

Remove oil, grease, coatings and other contaminants that may prevent penetration. Sandblasting or pressure cleaning may be required on heavily contaminated surfaces.

Any damaged areas, voids or defective concrete should be repaired before or as part of the waterproofing process.

Application

AD-TEK PW can be applied by spray, brush, mop or broom.

The product is normally applied to cracks first, followed by the main concrete surface. After application, the surface should be allowed to become touch-dry, generally within 3–6 hours.

Water can then be applied to the treated surface to assist the waterproofing reaction. Further wetting at approximately 12, 24 and 48 hours can help develop the waterproofing properties.
