AD-TEK MWR – Mid-Range Water-Reducing Admixture
AD-TEK MWR – Mid-Range Water-Reducing Admixture
High-performance concrete admixture for improved water reduction, workability and extended slump retention.
Overview
AD-TEK MWR is a composite, mid-range water-reducing admixture formulated as an aqueous solution for use in concrete applications where improved water reduction, workability and extended slump life are required.
AD-TEK MWR is designed to help achieve and maintain concrete slumps of approximately 100–160 mm, supporting easier placement and finishing while maintaining the performance requirements of the concrete mix.
It is particularly suited to the production of high-performance concrete where increased water reduction, excellent workability and extended placing time are important.
AD-TEK MWR exceeds the requirements of Australian Standard AS 1478.1–2000 for a medium-range water-reducing admixture, normal setting.
Key Benefits
Improved water reduction for more efficient concrete mix designs
Extended workability and slump life for easier placement
Reduced segregation in concrete mixes
Improved concrete strength and long-term durability
Enhanced surface finish
Increased resistance to aggressive atmospheric conditions
Reduced potential for shrinkage and creep
Suitable for high-performance concrete applications

Application
For maximum plasticising performance and water reduction, AD-TEK MWR should be added to the concrete after the cement has been wetted out.
As with all concrete admixtures, performance can vary depending on the cement, aggregates, supplementary cementitious materials, water content and other components used in the mix. Site trials are recommended to establish the optimum dosage and confirm performance for the specific concrete mix.
Recommended Dosage
The typical dosage range for AD-TEK MWR is 500–1,000 mL per 100 kg of cement.
The optimum dosage will depend on the specific mix design, materials and required performance. Site trials are recommended to determine the appropriate dosage for each application.
