GranoPatch Smooth is the current name for Wattyl’s smooth patching compound for repairing minor defects in concrete and most masonry surfaces. It can fill imperfections up to 4 mm in a single application, with multiple coats available for more severe surface defects where the substrate and application remain suitable.

Typical uses include filling shallow blowholes, broken corners, cracks or crazing in cement render, patching tilt-up panels and skim coating over coarse render. Once dry, the material can be sanded to produce a smooth surface ready for an appropriate coating system. GranoPatch Smooth requires the addition of 15% grey builders cement by volume and is supplied in a 15 L container with an approximate weight of 25 kg. It is not intended for walk-on or trafficable surfaces.

The surface should be sound, clean and free from dust, oil, loose material and contamination. Follow the current Wattyl technical information for mixing proportions, application thickness, drying, recoating and sanding. Larger, deeper, moving or structural cracks require assessment and a different repair approach; this product should not be used to conceal an underlying movement or structural issue.
